Procuradoria pede investigação sobre participação de Lula no Mensalão
Uma suposta participação do ex-presidente Lula e do ex-ministro da Casa
Civil Antonio Palocci no esquema do Mensalão deverá ser alvo de
investigação da Polícia Federal. Nesta sexta-feira (5), a Procuradoria
da República no Distrito Federal solicitou a abertura de um inquérito
sobre o caso. A informação é do jornal Folha de S.Paulo.
Em depoimento em setembro do ano passado, o publicitário Marcos Valério, condenado a mais de 40 anos de prisão, acusou Lula de negociar com o então presidente da Portugal Telecom, Miguel Horta, o repasse de US$ 7 milhões para o PT. O ex-presidente nega qualquer envolvimento.
Caso o pedido da Procuradoria seja acolhido, Lula será investigado pela primeira vez sobre o escândalo do Mensalão.
Além de Marcos Valério, no ano passado, o Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) condenou 24 réus, entre eles o ex-tesoureiro do PT Delúbio Soares e o ex-presidente nacional da legenda José Genoíno.
O esquema do Mensalão envolveu pagamento de propina a parlamentares em troca de apoio ao governo federal no Congresso.
